Actor Ryan Reynolds called police to report a photographer who was allegedly following him and girlfriend Blake Lively on Sunday (08Jul12).
The couple purchased a $2.3 million (£1.4 million) home in Bedford, New York in April (12) and has been spending some quality time there in recent weeks.
However, when the two stepped out to run local errands at the weekend, they realised they were being followed.
Concerned for his safety and that of his girlfriend, The Proposal star called the Bedford Police Department to report the pursuer, who was later identified as a snapper.
A local law enforcement official has confirmed the story to the New York Daily News.
Lively and Reynolds aren't the only celebrities turning to cops to help them with prying paparazzi problems - pop star Justin Bieber called 911 on Friday (06Jul12) after he was allegedly chased down by photographers in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, actor Alec Baldwin has had several recent stand-offs with snappers in New York - but he has chosen to tackle the paparazzi himself rather than call for police help.
