As premiered as Hottest Record by Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, we are excited to share the first single from Rustie’s forthcoming second album Green Language.
For ‘Attak’, Rustie marries his trademark ear for beat, melody and punch with a frenzied vocal from Detroit rap star Danny Brown - a collaboration first heard on Brown’s 2013 LP ‘Old’ on which Rustie produced several tracks.
‘Attak’ is the second song that has been heard from Green Language, following the technicolour hit of ‘Raptor’ a recent feature of shows and sets by the likes of Jackmaster, Annie Mac and MistaJam.
The album was written and recorded at 4am to the sound of birdsong in a remote location in his native Scotland, influenced by nature, birds and sunrise. Alongside Danny Brown, ‘Green Language’ features D Double E, Redinho and Gorgeous Children. The tracks are expansive and expressive compositions inspired by post-rock bands, such as ‘Godspeed You! Black Emperor’ and ‘My Bloody Valentine’, trance and the Glasgow electronic scene he helped to mould.
