Hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons has urged New York's Mayor Michael Bloomberg to come to the aid of the city's homeless in the wake of superstorm Sandy.

Simmons spoke of the terrible circumstances faced by vagrants after the Big Apple was ravaged by the storm on Monday (29Oct12), and openly accused Mayor Bloomberg of failing to deal with the situation.

In footage obtained by Tmz.com, he says of the city's homeless, "They're f**ked. It's terrible. We have so little regard for the homeless in New York already. I mean, I love Mayor Bloomberg, but he did a sh**ty job with the homeless. And now look at this mess."

Asked about how his own property was affected by the storm, Simmons replies, "My crib in the Hamptons might be twisted (damaged)... I am less worried about my house in the Hamptons than I am about the homeless."
