Walk of Shame

As for new trailers this week, Walk of Shame looks like the most fun. Elizabeth Banks stars as a reporter lost in L.A. after a riotous night out. The film looks lively and very silly, with costars including James Marsden, Oliver Hudson and Ethan Suplee. It opens in April. Watch 'Walk of Shame' trailer.

More seriously, the teaser for The Giver looks like another futuristic thriller based on a best-selling novel about a seemingly perfect society in which a young person (a teen boy this time, played by Brenton Thwaites) changes the system. But it's the powerhouse casting of Meryl Streep, Jeff Bridges, Alexander Skarsgard and Katie Holmes that makes this one stand out. The film opens in August. Watch 'The Giver' trailer.

Brenton Thwaites also stars in The Signal, another sci-fi thriller that released a new trailer this week. He plays a guy who is kidnapped by what seems to be a government researcher (Laurence Fishburne) who thinks he has come into contact with something alien. The film looks intriguingly low-key and visually inventive. A hit at Sundance in January, it arrives in cinemas in June. Watch 'The Signal' Trailer.

Jupiter Ascending

And finally, there's a new trailer for Jupiter Ascending, the sci-fi blockbuster from Matrix directors Andy and Lana Wachowski. This trailer offers more of the story about a young woman (Mila Kunis) who is propelled into an interplanetary conflict when she meets a sexy half-human (Channing Tatum).
