Hollywood actor Russell Crowe has apologised to fans in Japan after he was forced to miss the country's Man Of Steel premiere on Wednesday night (21Aug13).
The superhero blockbuster made its debut in the Asian nation with a red carpet event attended by stars including Henry Cavill, but Crowe was noticeably absent from the line-up.
However, Crowe reached out to fans and apologised for the no-show, revealing he has started working on his latest film project, The Water Diviner, which will mark his directorial debut. Crowe will also star in the drama, set in the aftermath of the First World War.
In a post on Twitter.com, he writes, "I'm sorry I'm not in Tokyo for the Man of Steel premiere. I love Japan. Started on The Water Diviner and need every minute of preparation... Yes, directing myself, unless I don't cast me or I am unavailable due to a prior commitment... the directing one."
