OSCAR winner Russell Crowe urges city councils the world over to impose heavy penalties on theatrical productions that fail to entertain.

The New Zealand-born movie star admits theatre done well is as entertaining as entertainment gets, but bad acting and stage hacks ruin many plays and musicals.

Crowe says, "It's so hard to convince people to spend their money on a theatre ticket that I think most city councils should have bylaws where, if you bore somebody in the theatre, you're fined, or maybe incarcerated."
