John Lydon says following Russell Brand's ideology would ultimately make you homeless.
John Lydon, the former Sex Pistols frontman, and a personality never one to shy away from a political debate, says Russell Brand is trying to sell a lifestyle of "cardboard boxes, down by the river" as he steps up his bid for revolution. Lydon called Brand a "bum hole" for advising people not to vote at the next election, saying his ideology would ultimately "make you all homeless."
"It's the most idiotic thing I've ever heard," Lydon told the Guardian's Polly Toynbee, "The likes of Russell Brand coming along and saying something so damn ignorant is just spoonfeeding it to them."

Russell Brand is moving into the world of children's literature, what can we expect?
Comedian Russell Brand, who isn't exactly known for his child friendly material, made a surprising announcement yesterday - he’s writing a children’s book. The funnyman confirmed, by way of a Youtube video that Russell Brand’s Trickster Tales will be released in November by Cannongate books. While some thought it was a joke a first, it seems no...this one is really happening. But what should we expect from a children’s book written by the notorious Russell Brand?
Russell Brand will unleash his Trickster Tales in November
Stand up comedian, actor, writer, political thinker (that last one’s debatable), Russell Brand certainly likes to keep himself busy. Now his latest endeavour seems to be following in the footsteps of fellow comedians Ricky Gervais and David Walliams into the world of children’s literature. Entitled Trickster Tales, Brand will be reinterpreting classic fairy stories for a new generation. In the video posted by Cannongate on Youtube, Brand unveiled the first tale he’ll be tacking is The Pied Piper of Hamelin, saying ‘I know you've already heard of that, and you might think 'well, that ain't your story', but I've done a different version of it.’ Brand also said he believes fairy tales are ‘the code to unlock aspects of our consciousness and to affect and impact the way we see the world,’ adding, ‘once we start changing the way children see the world, oh we can do all sorts of stuff’.

With a view to changing attitudes, Brand is penning books for the young
Russell Brand has been in the news lately for his revolutionary words and thoughts. And, in-keeping with that rhetoric, the stand-up comedian-cum-political activist is writing childrens’ books to alter the way they see they world. As Brand puts it himself, “Once we start changing the way children see the world… we can do all sorts of stuff.”
Russell Brand Demands a Revolution of Civil Disobedience at The Cambridge Union Society
Entitled Russell Brand’s Trickster Tales, the series will feature illustrations by Chris Riddell. “Once upon a time, long ago, in a time that seemed to those present, exactly like now, except their teeth weren't so clean and more things were wooden, there was a town called Hamelin,” Brand said in a video announcement. “I know you've already heard of that. And you might think, 'Well, that isn't your story'. Yeah, I know, I've done a different version of it.”
The comedian's forthcoming book will inform the reader how to be involved in the 'revolution' against the government: 'We all want to bring down the government and establish a personal and global utopia, but how?' they ask."
Russell Brand is taking his revolution a step further and plans to write a book on how it should be done.
The 39 year-old comedian will cover "ecology, inequality, rioting, financial meltdown and his total mistrust of politicians," in the lengthy guide.
A press release from publishing house Century, who have acquired rights to the forthcoming book, stated that it will "act as a provocation; urging its readers to discard apathy and challenge the status quo," (via The Guardian).

Brand's got to do what Brand's got to do
Sad news has emerged from camp Russell Brand; the comedian, activist and actor’s mother – Barbara - has been diagnosed with breast cancer, forcing Brand to disappoint some of his fans by cancelling a string of dates for his Messiah Complex tour. There were doubts over the comedian’s own health when he pulled out of his Glasgow show due to “family reasons” and cancelled a sold out Derby gig.
Russell Brand has halted his tour to spend more time with his mother, Barbara
It has emerged, though, that the reason behind Brand’s cancelled dates is his mother’s ill health. He spoke about the issue on his YouTube channel, ‘The Trews’, which aims to offer an alternative take on the media consumed by Brits.
Russell Brand writes a candid letter analysing the death of Academy-Award winner Philip Seymour Hoffman and claims the lawmakers are "deliberately creating the worst imaginable circumstances to maximise the harm caused by substance misuse."
It is publically known that Russell Brand's past involved an intense battle with substance and alcohol abuse, but the Brit managed to overcome his addiction issues.
So it is little surprise that the fairly outspoken Brit had a few things to say on the sudden death of Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Brand, who has been clean and sober for more than a decade, wrote a candid letter for The Guardian this week, in which he closely examines the Oscar- winning actor's heroin addiction and criticises the laws surrounding illegal substances.
Russell Brand - "Politics should be a system that helps everybody. Currently it's a meaningless temporary reality that is completely pointless." Earlier this evening Russell Brand addressed over 800 student members of the prestigious Cambridge Union Society, declaring that: "They don't define the paradigm - we define the paradigm. We're running things now. Don't trust the, don't vote for them, don't play along. Complete non-compliance would change the system." Mr Brand went on to say that "Voting is an act of compliance. I'm not complying with you! Give us something to vote for and I'll vote for it. Just don't vote within the tiny circumference of nonsense that we're offered. We oughtn't be satisfied with some diluted version of democracy. Be under no illusions the parliamentary system exists to sustain itself - it doesn't represent us. There needs to be a defiant stand against the corporates that are running our planet". "Revolution is coming. It's happening instantaneously. It's happening now! It has to be peaceful - occasionally I get into all that violent shit and the romanticisation of revolution because I hate the power structure but that just wouldn't work." When pressed on how it would work he replied that: "We need to make it sexy - make it fun, make it enjoyable, make it a part of your identity. They're very good presenting the spectacle - we need to be better. What we need to do is stimulate people's interest. For the first time we have a focus to rally people around. I'm talking about corporation that don't contribute to society -Philip Green at Topshop is happy to use the fire service if one of his stores is burning down but he doesn't pay any tax for it!" Brand isn't exactly looking to shake hands with David Cameron.
While Russell Brand’s thoughts on British Prime Minister are pretty easy to predict, it’s funny to actually hear them. The 38-year-old comedian was forthright with his opinions on the man charged with looking after a nation, and he used bad words.
Russell Brand didn't hold anything back
A guest on Alan Carr’s Channel 4 comedy talk show, Chatty Man, Brand had license to be candid. An interview on the BBC wouldn’t have allowed such opinion to be openly aired. We’ll cut to the chase, he called him a “posh w--nker”.

Critics have largely been positive in their reviews of the album, which contains some of her most personal lyrics to date
Katy Perry is currently enjoying her recent return to the top of the pop agenda, releasing her fourth studio album to rave reviews and eager audience anticipation, and already enjoying tremendous success on the back of her her last two singles. Crammed with the usual dose of bubblegum pop numbers, Prism also features some more mature numbers, and the lyrics on the album are by far some of her most personal to date. Maybe that's why critics are in love with it so much.
Perry is enjoying critical and commercial success with her new album
According to review aggregator MetaCritic, Prism has enjoyed the most positive critical reception of any other KP release, with many of the songs enjoying some credible moments next to the usual presence of throwaway pop numbers that Perry is known for. Some reviews are positively glowing, although others are a little harsher, however there are few that just berate the album content. On the back of this critical success, Prism has managed to score some impressive sales figures already, and has been climbing up album charts across the world.

No, they're still divorced, but Russell helped influence Katy's honest new album.
For many people, a divorce can be a terrible experience, hounded by despair and loneliness, and it appears that even Katy Perry went through the same emotions but she managed to channel them into chart-climbingly catchy music à la Taylor Swift on her latest album, Prism.
Divorce Took A Heavy Emotional Toll On Katy.
With lead track 'Roar' unleashed last month to give us a sniff of her new, starker direction, it was evident that Prism wasn't exactly going to be a record of doom metal, rather the same power pop fluff we've become accustomed to from Ms. Perry. However, there was no question about whether Katy's new stance advocated standing up for herself, feeling empowered, and moving on to better things; a strength reportedly resulting from her divorce from British comedian, Russell Brand.

Russell Brand caused controversy at the GQ Men of the Year awards, but aren't we all getting a little carried away?
Russell Brand made headlines at the GQ Men of the Year awards this week, after making a joke about the Nazi's and their sartorial choices. Noting Hugo Boss's link to the SS went down like a lead balloon, though it was hardly the year's most vile joke. Besides, Brand is a comedian.
Anyway, Telegraph journalist and all-round bore Charles Moore was so incensed by the joke that he thought it right to hit back with a jibe about Brand's notorious answer phone message to the Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs, which cost the comedian his job on BBC Radio 2 in 2008.
Moore has been indignant about the whole thing for years, apparently resolving to pay his BBC license fee to Help the Aged until the corporation dispensed of the services of Brand and his partner-in-crime Jonathan Ross.

At the annual GQ Men of the Year Awards, Russell Brand sparked off a war of words between himself, Charles Moore, actor Jeremy Piven and a host of others, as the group embarked on a night long slanging contest that took place during their respective time on stage. According to the Evening Standard, the slang-off was sparked by Brand's ill-advised Nazi joke, which seemed to set the subject matter for the night early on.

Russell Brand was the centre of attention at the GQ Men of the Year awards, for better or worse.
The GQ Men of the Year awards is always a rather boisterous affair. When you stick a load of preened rock stars, comedians, actors and journalists in the same room, give them free alcohol and tell them how stylish and brilliant they are: things are going to happen. And they did.
The controversy began when Russell Brand arrived on-stage to collect his 'Oracle' award, reminding the audience that the event's sponsor - high end designer Hugo Boss - was responsible for designing the SS uniforms during World War II. For all intents and purposes, they were pretty snappy outfits, though probably a period on the designer's history that it would rather forget.
"If anyone knows a bit about history and fashion, you know it was Hugo Boss who made uniforms for the Nazis. But they looked f***ing amazing," said Brand, to gasps in the room at the Royal Opera House, according to the Evening Standard.

The is one sequel the studio won't regret making
Despicable Me 2’s special July 4th was independent in more ways that one: it was Universals biggest ever opening for a movie, with a total of $34.3m on Wednesday, despite most American’s enjoying the seasonally good weather. This has set it up to perform well over the weekend, as those little minions continue to delight audiences.
Gru being a family man
The hilarious animation – starring Steve Carell as the evil genius-cum-family man Gru – followed up the impressive Wednesday with a solid Thursday, managing $23.5m. All in all, a domestic total of $84.3m so far is good going, especially considering it’s still got a holiday weekend to sell. Even better news for Universal is, considering it’s an animation, it was rather cheap, costing a mere $76m to make – it’s already broken even and more!

Despicable Me 2 is the captivating follow-up to the Golden Globe-nominated original, in fact The Guardian declare it to be "Funnier - and perhaps cuter - than its predecessor," with a film directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud. The original grossed $543 million worldwide (£357m) making a whopping profit and securing the possibility of a sequel. Perhaps the movie's success is due to the comedy factor brought about by the playful, helium-voiced minions? Mark Kermode seems to think so, in a golden review: "these yellow weebles are comedy gold, their slapstick antics blending a simplicity of form with a complexity of expression rooted in the traditions of silent cinema."

Despicable Me 2, the sequel to the first 2010 film, is due to be released in cinemas on Wednesday. Early critical reviews have been largely positive. Keith Uhlich of the New York Times said the franchise has improved since the last film and that it is "delights more often than it disappoints".

Whilst most of the critics have enjoyed the film there are others who criticised Universal Pictures for its lack of originality. Ryan Gilbey of The Statesman said the film is "a completely redundant follow-up to the perfectly delightful 2010 original". Others have drawn comparisons with Monsters University, claiming Despicable Me 2 "has more laughs in the first 5 minutes" than Monsters managed in 90 (according to Roger Moore of McClatchy-Tribune News Service).

Katy Perry opens up on the fall out of her relationship with Russell Brand, saying the rapper ended things over text
For many, the union of Russell Brand and Katy Perry was a strange one; one of them is a comedian renown for his intelligence and liberal views, the other a pop star with seemingly no inclination for intellect or personal views. In hindsight, it was never going to work out was it?
That’s not to say either of them are right, wrong, good or bad, but suffice to say: it was weird. So when their divorce was announced last year, no one was surprised. Brand’s method, though, may not have been expected. "He's a very smart man, and I was in love with him when I married him," Perry said in an interview with Vogue. "Let's just say I haven't heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011."
Brand is known for his quick style of comedy, with which he can usually confuse even the most savvy of interviewers as he demonstrated recently with his performance on Morning Joe. Although, to call the people at NBC savvy is a mighty fine compliment. Perry, though, started to get lost in the funny mans humour. "Hysterical in some ways. Until he started making jokes about me and he didn't know I was in the audience, because I had come to surprise him at one of his shows,” she explained of his comedic style.

Katy Perry has revealed that husband and comedian Russell Brand told her he wanted a divorce via text.
Speaking to US Vogue magazine in a candid interview, 28 year-old Perry spoke of the pitfalls of her 14 month marriage and identified Brand's ego as a key reason their marriage failed: "I think a lot of times strong men do want an equal, but then they get that equal and they're, like, I can't handle the equalness. He didn't like the atmosphere of me being the boss on tour."
Perry described 38 year-old British comedian Brand as "smart" and "magical" until he became "controlling, which was upsetting."

The controversial funny-man reckons he could be up for the job of traveling the universe
Russell Brand is the latest high profile actor/famous person to express his desire to be the new Dr. Who. The comedian, who has been in America making bad films and writing excellent articles and said he would jump at the chance to time travel and boot Cybermen in the nether regions.
“I'd love to be the Doctor,” said Brand on Absolute Radio. “I'd be like a Tom Baker one, a long scarf, flouncy, wistful, quoting occasional poems, kicking Cybermen in the nuts," he exclaimed. One thing’s for certain, he has the flamboyancy and extravagance needed for the role. "I would just travel through time pinching people's a***s. Carry on up the worm hole. Like quantum physics, so that is actually perfect.”
Oh, hang on. Hang on a minute. Matt Smith quitting his role as The Dr has not only disappointed fans of the series – Smith was a popular time lord – but it has set the rumour mill into overdrive. Ben Daniels was mooted as a possible favourite, but now rumours are suggesting it’s time for a female Dr, with Miranda Hart and Sue Perkins leading candidates.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand were rumored to have rekindled their relationship following her split from John Mayer.
No, is the answer to that question. No, Katy Perry and Russell Brand weren't seen "full on making out" in the valet line at El Lay's Soho House this week, as was originally reported by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton. The story picked up some serious speed as it circulated around blogs and social network, though Hilton has since admitted that his sources were "100% wrong" on the matter.
Just a few hours later, Perez issued an apology to both Perry and Brand, writing "A source told us today that they saw Katy Perry and her ex-husband Russell Brand making out, but we have confirmation now it simply wasn't true! We're so sorry for jumping the gun on this one, KatyCat and Russ! We were just so excited to imagine two of our favorites were rekindling an old flame, we must've been blinded by our love for you guys as a couple!!"
The original report appeared to carry a little credence, given Katy Perry recent split with blues musician John Mayer, however, she is ready to sell the marital home that she shared with Russell Brand during their short marriage. The singer is selling the $7 million Hollywood Hills property through US estate agents after failing to secure a private deal. It features 11 bathrooms, 7 bedrooms, a swimming pool and its own waterfall.

A source told People magazine: "He's very defensive and comes across as extremely jealous of her career. He's basically using Katy, who fits into his plans to stay in the spotlight right now. His whole moving to Montana sting didn't get him the attention he wanted and he has been going a bit crazy not being able to sing because of his vocal illness."

Controversial comedian conformed for Xfm radio show later this month
Russell Brand is set to host a radio show on Xfm later this month, as part of a promotion for a week-long series of Teenage Cancer Trust gigs, curated by former Oasis member Noel Gallagher. Brand’s radio show will take place on Monday March 18, 2013 between 9pm and midnight. He will be joined in the studio by his former co-host Matt Morgan, as well as the poet Mr Gee. It will be the first time in seven years that they’ll have been back in a radio studio together.
The new appointment will mark the first time that Brand has been back on UK radio for some time, after he caused a huge furore (along with Jonathan Ross, it must be said) when he left an offensive message of actor Andrew Sachs’ answerphone during a BBC Radio show. The Teenage Cancer Trust gigs that the show is designed to promote will be taking place from March 19, 2013, at the Royal Albert Hall.

Has Russell Brand won over the BBC at last, after Sachs-gate? His Comic Relief gig went down a storm
Russell Brand’s relationship with the BBC may well be on the mend, as the risky comedian’s set at their Comic Relief ‘Give It Up’ show went down a storm. The 37 year-old turned out to be a bigger hit than fellow performer Frankie Boyle, whose humour tends to be even closer to the bone than Brand’s and apparently the Scottish comic bombed at Wembley Arena, according to MailOnline. Brand had previously found himself in trouble when he and Jonathan Ross offended the actor Andrew Sachs, on a BBC radio show.
Russell Brand seems to have won back the affections of the BBC
To celebrate the triumph of the huge arena show, Russell Brand headed to London’s exclusive Embassy club in Mayfair where he was reportedly met by a group of women who had been waiting for him. “There were several women waiting hours for him to turn up,” the report reveals and adds that they were “all over Russell when he got in the room and he was soon joined by about 20 gorgeous women at his table.” Nice work if you can get it, eh? The ladies’ patience was apparently rewarded with the hookahs (special electronic shisha pipes, no less and rugs that Brand had laid out on the floor for them and the controversial comic / actor ordered pots of tea for his guests.
Russell Brand has admitted that he still gets heckled about his relationship with Katy Perry. In an interview with ShortList, he revealed that punters at his stand-up gigs shout “[inaudible mumbling] Katy Perry!” at him but although it’s difficult to have the subject of a recently failed marriage thrown in your face, he tries not to pay too much attention to the abuse.
Putting things into perspective, Brand told his interviewer “it’s horrible. But you’ve got to be a big boy if you’re standing on stage in front of 10,000 people and you’ve taken 50 quid off each of them. They should shout what they want.” On the subject of divorce, Brand insists that it may have changed him but it hasn’t put him off marriage. “I feel different about my private life,” said Brand. “I feel like I need to have one now. If you’re married to someone who’s also famous, privacy becomes a commodity. But f*cking hell, that’s not really a problem in a world where people are starving. My attitude to fame and celebrity changes continually.”
Brand stands by the institution of marriage, though, even if his betrothal to Katy was short-lived. “I liked marriage. Most of it was brilliant. You can’t condemn an institution on one incident. You can’t condemn the whole Catholic Church for a few dodgy priests [laughs].”

If there's one thing Russell Brand is famous for, no, not the drugs, the alcohol or the BBC Radio scandal, it's womanising. The 37-year-old is known for his womanising, and it seems yoga is a great place to meet them.
Especially when you invite everyone from your class back to your house to stretch and groan for a couple of hours. "Demi Moore, as far as anything more physical goes -- she's just at yoga. I really like her, she's really lovely. I just see her at yoga. She's an older lady, she's incredibly beautiful but that's that," said Brand of Moore, rather snappily, which suggests it was on his mind. "I like the yoga thing, it's the dawning of a wonderful new era. It's proving to be an interesting new phase for me -- yoga, transcendental consciousness, meditation, good-looking people. It's the dawning of a new Sixties."
Brand admitted, though, that he does keep an eye on the ladies while he's supposed to be finding his inner self. "It's full of amazing women. That's a fact. They are all filled with sexual energy. It has been brilliant."

Russell Brand is famous for his sexual exploits, so when it was reported that he had 30 people in his house, stretching in tight cloths and groaning, you could be forgiven for thinking it was post-watershed news item.
It is, however, perfectly innocent. The star just had a bunch of people round to do some Yoga. "The yoga centre I had been going to sacked our instructor, so I have moved everyone into my house. I had 30 people doing it in my house," he explained, the Sun reports. "I had all the crew on my TV show doing yoga in the studio the other day too. There were 100 people doing it. It's not your normal yoga. It's like proper chanting, full-on stuff -- not for the faint-hearted," added Brand, who is becoming slightly obsessed with Yoga, possibly for more than enlightenment reasons. "It's full of amazing women. That's a fact. They are all filled with sexual energy. It has been brilliant."
Since Amy Winehouse's death from excessive use of drugs and alcohol, Brand has stepped up his campaign for more recognition for people suffering from the affliction of addiction. Having himself been severely addicted to drugs, and come out the other side both alive and still sane, well, on the whole, he is a prominent role model for those still suffering.
Rebel Wilson, the comedy actress currently starring in Pitch Perfect, will host the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, the network announced in a first look trailer on Thursday (December 20, 2012). Set to air on April 14, Wilson will become the first woman to host the event since Sarah Silverman emceed in 2007.
Female comedians are taking over next year's awards' ceremonies, with Amy Poehler and Tina Fey tasked with hosting the Golden Globes. The MTV Awards sometimes get it right with their hosts (Russell Brand, Andy Samberg, Sarah Silverman, Will Smith), though often get it very, very, wrong. Lindsay Lohan hosted in 2004, while Jessica Alba didn't exactly set the show alight in 2006. Anyway, Wilson - as the comedy actress of the moment - seems a pretty solid choice. The Australian played Brynn in the smash-hit Bridesmaids and went on to star in A Few Best Men, What To Expect When You're Expecting, and Pitch Perfect. She's currently writing a comedy named Super Fun for the ABC Network, and stars alongside Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson in the action-comedy Pain & Gain.
The 2012 MTV Movie Awards was held at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles in June. It was dominated by The Hunger Games, Twilight and Bridesmaids.

Noel Gallagher is curating the Teenage Cancer Trust's set of gigs; getting some of the biggest bands and comedians to entertain audiences at The Royal Albert Hall, and all to raise money for teenagers that are suffering from cancer.
It sounds like a fun job, curating a week of shows at a truly legendary venue, but according to Noel, it's something the government should be doing (helping teenagers with cancer, not prancing about on stage a la Russell Brand, although that would be funny, too).
"I don't feel I've got a moral obligation to do anything. I do it because it feels right to me, not because I'm morally obliged to do it, let's face it, the government should be doing it, not us" Noel told Contact Music at a press conference today. "It's like when you meet these kids and stuff like that you remember that you were a teenager once, albeit a long time ago but speaking for me personally, I do it because I want to, not because I should be doing it."
Russell Brand is being sued for $25,000 by a pedestrian who was allegedly hit by his car in Los Angeles back in January.
The British funnyman is facing yet another lawsuit only months after being forced to pay out $500 and do 20 hours of community service when he threw an iPhone belonging to a paparazzo through the window of a building. This time, according to a copy of the lawsuit filed by LA County Superior Court that TMZ managed to get their hands on, Brand was driving 'negligently' which caused him to hit a pedestrian by the name of Victor Sneed who has claimed that he was injured as a result of the collision, had damage done to personal property and was landed with subsequent hospital bills. He also claimed that he 'lost wages' following the incident.
Trouble with the law has been a prominent factor in Mr Brand's life. Even though his hellraising days are over, he still can't seem to stay out of controversy; apart from the two incidents mentioned above, he has also been arrested for battery after allegedly attacking a photographer who stood in his way as he attempted to board a flight with his then fiancé Katy Perry and he, alongside Jonathan Ross, also caused the BBC to be fined £150,000 in 2008 when the presenters left a vile voicemail to comedy legend Andrew Sachs regarding Brand's relationship with his granddaughter.
Katy Perry and Russell Brand's PR people are clearly no longer communicating, with the pair only just avoiding a potentially disastrous reunion this week. Both stars - who divorced earlier this year - attended the same Los Angeles Lakers season opener on Tuesday (October 30, 2012), though just happened to be seated at opposite sides of the court.
According to E! Online, there was no indication that the pair interacted, with Katy attending the game with her father. Comedian Brand sat between two unknown youngers, though later chatted with footballers David Beckham and Robbie Keane, who were there with Adam Levine and his girlfriend. Elsewhere, Hollywood legend Jack Nicholson looked as mischievous as ever - fittingly wearing a jack-o-lantern - and heartthrob Zac Efron also enjoyed the match courtside, which the Lakers lost to Dallas.
Brand and Perry married in a lavish ceremony in India in October 2010, after first meeting at the MTV Video Music Awards the previous year. Cracks in their relationship circulated right from the start, and the pair split after a year of marriage. Since their divorce, Perry has dated the Florence and the Machine guitarist Rob Ackroyd and is currently with singer John Mayer.

Victor Sneed, with a name worthy of Royston Vasey, is suing Russell Brand for allegedly running into him with his car earlier this year.
Sneed is looking for over $25,000 in compensation. This sum is for hospital bills and loss of earnings as a result of his injuries, as well as legal costs- that would be non-existant were he not suing the Get Him to the Greek actor. TMZ have reported that Brand was trying to escape paparazzi in his Range Rover. Sneed's lawyer Bob Fink has contacted the website telling them that the ex-security guard is currently in a leg brace and potentially needing surgery. At the time Brand sent one of his employees to exchange details with the man, with the view to settle the ordeal outside insurance and court. Alas, that hasn't materialised. Nevertheless, it does seem dubious that the incident was alleged to have occurred in January of this year, yet the victims proceedings seem to have taken 8 months to materialise. No one would put it past Brand to be a negligent driver, nevertheless, something smells a bit fishy.
TMZ got hold of the documents, but you can see scans of them here.
British comedian Russell Brand leaves Newsroom Café on Beverly Hills' Robertson Boulevard with three homeless people after treating them to breakfast. He ignores photographers' questions and appraisals for his selfless actions as he tries to ferry his gang to his parked Range Rover.
Pampered rich boy-man Arthur Bach (Brand) has finally pushed his mother (James) too far. Head of a multinational conglomerate, she tells him he'll lose his inheritance if he doesn't marry the shark-like Susan (Garner), daughter of a property tycoon (Nolte). In a perpetual state of womanising drunkenness, Arthur is propped up by the only two people who like him: long-suffering nanny Hobson (Mirren) and patient chauffer Bitterman (Guzman). Then as he agrees to marry Susan, he finds himself falling for quirky tour guide Naomi (Gerwig).

Arthur Bach is a man who's always had everything he wants, from driving around in the Batmobile to his floating bed and music lessons with Kanye West whatever Arthur wants he gets. Many would say, Arthur is a child stuck in a man's body and he would be if it were not for his faithful lifelong carer, Hobson, who's his best friend and perhaps the only one who truly believes in Arthur's potential. There's also Bitterman, Arthur's driver who is his general partner in crime when it comes to getting up to things a billionaire shouldn't be seen doing.

It's been 12 years since Prospera (Mirren) and her daughter Miranda (Jones) were banished from their homeland, so Prospera orchestrates a storm to maroon her tormenters on her island home. With the help of sprite Arial (Whishaw), she divides them into three groups: the king (Straithairn) and his brother (Cumming), along with Prospera's brother (Cooper) and wise Gonzalo (Conti), are lost in madness; the wacky Trinculo and Stephano (Brand and Molina) meet up with slave Caliban (Hounsou) and run in circles; and the king's son Ferdinand (Carney) is diverted to meet Miranda.

Gru (voiced by Carell) is a supervillain who has never quite made it. Despite a series of impressive gadgets created with the help of his sidekick Dr Nefario (Brand), he's never managed that one big stunt that would make his name. This is something his mother (Andrews) constantly reminds him. So when young upstart villain Vector (Segel) steals a pyramid, Gru decides to go for his big dream: kidnapping the moon. But his first step involves adopting three orphan girls (Cosgrove, Gaier and Fisher), and they turn out to be rather distracting.

Aaron (Hill) works at a Los Angeles record label that's struggling to make money, so he proposes restaging the iconic Greek Theater gig by fading rock star Aldous Snow (Brand) 10 years ago. Then his intense boss (Combs) sends Aaron to London to accompany the notoriously unreliable Aldous back to L.A. by way of New York and Las Vegas. And of course nothing goes as planned, all coloured by trouble both guys are having with their girlfriends (Moss and Byrne). Will they make it to the Greek in time?

But the other part of Sandler's "oeuvre" consists of movies like Spanglish and Punch-Drunk Love -- odd hybrids of broad humor and quirk -- and toned-down, frothy mainstream comedies like Click and Bedtime Stories. It would be unfair to accuse Sandler of selling out his artistic vision in these films -- not only because Little Nicky wasn't art, but because the non-manic goofiness of Bedtime Stories may be closer to the real Sandler. And with some script consulting help, someday the real Sandler might make a really good film. Bedtime Stories isn't it, but at least it's mostly aimed in the right direction.

Dame Helen Mirren and Russell Brand are among the cast members of an experimental upcoming film of Shakespeare's The Tempest.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Julie Taymor's take on the Bard sees Mirren as Prospera, a female version of Prospero, the exiled duke of the original play.
Brand is to play Trinculo, a jester, while Jeremy Irons, Djimon Hounsou and Ben Whishaw have also been confirmed for the Icon film.
In Shakespeare's original text, Prospero and his daughter Miranda (Felicity Jones) are exiled to a distant island inhabited only by deformed slave Caliban (Hounsou) and Ariel, a spirit (Whishaw).
Having learnt to control the island with magic, Prospero seizes the chance to wreak revenge on her usurpers by raising a storm which leaves them shipwrecked, sparking a romance between Miranda and the son of Prospero's greatest rival Alonso, the King of Naples (Irons).
Alfred Molina is also on board, playing the drunken butler Stephano while Oscar-winner Geoffrey Rush is in negotiations to play Gonzalo, a royal adviser and former alley of Prospero's.
Director Taymor's only significant change to the text, as of yet, seems to be the feminising of Prospero's character.
Likely to begin shooting in November, The Tempest will be the Oscar-nominated helmer's first film since 2007's Beatles musical Across the Universe.
