When her father, a police officer investigating a human trafficking case, is murdered along with her mother, Sawa (India Eisley) vows to take revenge. Six years later, Sawa is 18 years old and ready to strike back against the cartels that she believes caused her to become an orphan at the age of 12. With the help from her father's old partner, the renegade cop Karl Aker (Samuel L. Jackson), Sawa battles her way through cartel while taking the drug 'Amp' to make her forget about the atrocities she is committing. As the memories of her parents begin to fade as well, she takes refuge in the comfort of Oburi (Callan McAuliffe), her childhood sweetheart, that knows the truth about her past.

The Bang Bang Club was founded in South Africa, during the troubled Apartheid period but came to prominence in the years 1990-1994. The 'club' featured many photojournalists who were active before the fall of Apartheid but focuses in particular on four: Kevin Carter; Greg Marinovich; Ken Oosterbroik and Joao Silva, who often went to extremes to capture their award-winning photographs.
