Bosses at Warner Bros. Television have recruited Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence and Mad Men producer Blake MCCormick to adapt the action films for television, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The series will follow the style of the movies and feature the adventures of a Hong Kong police officer who is assigned to be the partner of a cocky cop in Los Angeles.

The movie has become one of France's most successful exports to the U.S. ever and now Tucker is considering leading the cast of a Hollywood revamp.
Tucker is interested in the role Omar Sy played in the original, telling BlackFilm.com, "I have been talking with them (producers) about doing it. I hope something will come out of it because I really like the movie and they are in the process of getting it together. So there's a possibility that it might happen."

The actor, who made his name as a funnyman, was last seen on the big screen in 2007's Rush Hour 3 and he admits it took him a while to find the "perfect" film in which to make his movie comeback - because so much of what he was being offered was garbage.
He tells the New York Post, "The scripts I was getting didn't connect with me. Some were action, and I did that with the Rush Hours. I wanted something different and challenging. It was me saying, 'This needs to be perfect.'"

Jackie Chan is planning to star in 'Rush Hour 4' and 'Karate Kid 2' in the next ''five to 10 years'' and he will then think about retiring from acting completely.
The 58-year-old actor recently announced his latest film, 'Chinese Zodiac', would be his last ''big action movie'', but he still intends to make a fourth edition of his and Chris Tucker's 1998 motion picture 'Rush Hour' as well as a sequel of his rebooted version of 'Karate Kid' with Jaden Smith.
He said: ''I will ask my body how long I can go. I'm not young anymore. In the future I'll still do 'Karate Kid 2', 'Rush Hour 4'.''

He told BANG Showbiz: "I keep saying to myself, 'How long can I keep doing action stunts?', so many action stars have a short lifespan... in Hollywood whenever I present a script people are like, 'No, no. 'Rush Hour 3'.' Or 'Rush Hour 4'. And I say, 'I can't do that any more!' "
