Review of Royksopp's single 'Happy Up Here'.
Norwegian duo Royksopp are back with a short quirky track 'Happy Up Here' released on EMI. Being a fan of Parliament and straight away hearing a sample from them on this track I guess it's kinda cool seeing P-Funk still very much in the mind of contemporary music. They've certainly bleached the stomp of the funk and put some zany Scandinavian pop in the mix but Parliament were always pretty much cartoon anyway so in some ways they're remaining loyal to the essence of the sound. In fact 'Happy Up Here' is pretty interesting, lovable and certainly lives up to its name as happy is definitely in the mix. How could you be unhappy coming from Norway?
