The son of Roxy Music star Bryan Ferry is furious he was ordered to spend four months in jail on charges that police are now planning to drop.
Otis Ferry was arrested in September (08) when his robbery and assault case was halted amid allegations he had tried to discredit a witness during the proceedings.
He was made to spend Christmas behind bars in Gloucester, England before he was granted bail in January (09).
But on Monday it was announced that the charge of perverting the course of justice would most likely be abandoned because of a lack of evidence, leaving Ferry angry at his treatment.
He says, "This whole thing could have been avoided. It is not only frustrating, but it is devastating. If you have ever been in prison you will know it is not very nice. I had to spend four months there for something I told the police was not true from day one."
Police have confirmed the charge is likely to be dropped at Ferry's next court hearing - but the 26-year-old isn't convinced his name will be cleared.
He adds: "I won't be able to breathe any kind of sigh of relief until the whole thing is over and I can go to bed at night without worrying about this. And until I hear it in court at the next hearing, I won't believe that the perverting the course of justice charge has been dropped. I was in prison for four months because the police claimed that their sensitive investigation would be prejudiced if I was out.
"They thought that I would bully the witnesses but it seems to me that they had me locked up on the say-so of one man. What they accused me of was simply not true and I tried to tell them that but they didn't listen."
