Time is an extraordinarily complicated thing which does not always behave in the way you might expect. In fact, 13-year-old Meg Murry (Storm Reid), her brother Charles (Deric McCabe) and her friend Calvin (Levi Miller) are about to discover that there's a lot more to the universe in which they live than they could possibly have imagined.
Haunted by the mysterious disappearance of her scientist father Alex (Chris Pine), Meg finds herself at the home of three women named Mrs. Who, Mrs. Whatsit and Mrs. Which (Mindy Kaling, Reese Witherspoon, Oprah Winfrey); women who may seem like ordinary neighbours at first, but are in fact supernatural beings with the ability to transport themselves through time and space.
They offer to send the children to space so that Meg can seek out her father, and find out what's really out there. Unfortunately, there's a darkness that has engulfed Mr Murry, and it is threatening to consume the entire universe. Meg is the only person with the ability to bring the light back, so she must release her inner warrior and be braver and smarter than she's ever had to be before.

Recent rumours that the 'Boy Meets World' spin-off was coming to an end have turned out to be true.
It’s official: Disney is indeed calling an end to ‘Girl Meets World’, just a few days after one of its stars, Rider Strong, stirred up rumours that the show was being cancelled.
‘Girl Meets World’ made its debut on The Disney Channel in June 2014, conceived of as a sequel series to the long-running ’90s favourite ‘Boy Meets World’, and ran for three seasons. On Wednesday (January 4th), the show’s writers tweeted confirmation of its cancellation.
“It is with incredible pride in our work and complete sadness that things end, that I report to this wonderful audience that our show is over," the tweet read. "I just officially got the call, and would like to thank this audience for its incredible love and loyalty. Please watch our January episodes."

‘Boy Meets World’ fans are in for another treat on ‘Girl Meets World,’ as Matthew Lawrence is set to reprise his role as Jack Hunter in an upcoming episode.
‘Girl Meets Word’ follows Corey and Topanga’s daughter.
The last time fans saw Jack it was 15 years ago and he had left to join the Peace Corps. But it’s time to find out what he’s been up to all these years, and more importently if his six percent body fat is still in tact.
With 'Girl Meets World' streaming ahead of its June 27 premiere date, the pilot episode ultimately fails to live up to expectations.
Whether Boy Meets World was a part of your childhood from the very beginning or wasn’t something you experienced until later in your teens, it’s safe to say that anyone that had a connection with the television show never exactly grew out of it. The timeless sitcom had a charm to it that kept it relevant for years well after its conclusion over 14 years ago. Since then, people have been calling for a movie, or a reunion episode -- anything that would allow some more Cory and Topanga in our lives. Well, we got our wish with Girl Meets World, but it sadly just doesn’t live up to expectations.
Rowan Blanchard is Riley in Girl Meets World
Girl Meets World still gets the benefit of the doubt for a few reasons: 1. The theme song is amazing, 2. We really, really hope the series turns out as good as it could be, and 3. It’s only the pilot episode. With that said, the first episode streaming online before its airing on June 27 was extremely disappointing. First off, Girl Meets World desperately tries to recreate Boy Meets World’s magic by emulating the same exact characters: the main character Riley, who is Cory and Topanga’s daughter, has a best friend Maya -- she’s basically the female version of Shawn Hunter, but not nearly as cool. Meanwhile, one of Maya and Riley’s classmates, a kid named Farkle, is quite obviously supposed to be the new Minkus, but much more obnoxious, and it’s not in a good way.

Corey and Topanga are back, but this time they're joined by mischief making daughter, Riley Matthews! Here's our highlights from the new 'Girl Meets World' trailer.
We were uber excited to finally get a sneak preview of the much anticipated Girl Meets World. The first cheeky trailer was released, and although it may have been just 30 seconds long it was still an unadulterated Matthews family fun fest!
Rowan Blanchard definitely looks the part of Corey and Topanga's daughter
We finally got a look in at Corey and Topanga’s daughter, 12 year old Riley Matthews, played by Rowan Blanchard. Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, who played Corey and Topanga respectively in the original Boy Meets World, also pop up, making fans of BMW extremely nostalgic to see their favourite characters all grown up. However, it was heart warming to see that the childhood sweethearts are still happily together, although this is Disney, we doubt there will be a disasterous divorce sub-plot!

More casting news from Girl Meets World, the Boy Meets World spin-off show being developed by the Disney Channel. 13 year-old Sabrina Carpenter has been cast in the role of Maya Fox, Entertainment Weekly report. Maya is the best friend of Cory and Topanga’s rebellious teenage daughter Riley Matthews (played by Rowan Blanchard) and Carpenter already has history with the Disney Channel.
Sabrina Carpenter is already making her name as a singer. She’s signed to Hollywood Records and her first single ‘Smile’ was included on the Disney Fairies CDs Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust and charted in Radio Disney’s Top 30. Sabrina has also been cast in Fox’s comedy The Goodwin Games, as well as guest starring in an episode of the Disney Channel’s top show Austin and Ally, some time in the forthcoming months.
Production is all set to start on Girl Meets World next month, with a view to becoming a staple part of Disney Channel’s 2013-14. There has already been so much press attention on the new show and as it stands, the producers would have to do something pretty terrible to the pilot to not get it commissioned, surely? The pilot will star the original stars of Boy Meets World, Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel as Cory and Topanga.

Since the popular 90s show Boy Meets World finished, speculation has been rife as to whether a spin off would be made. So when Girl Meets World was announced, naturally, speculation turned towards who would play the girl meeting the world.
Disney has cast 11-year-old singer-actress Rowan Blanchard in the title role, as Girl Meets World producer Michael Jacobs told EW. "As soon as Rowan walked into the room, I was reminded of why Ben Savage was loved as Cory Matthews," he said. She will play the daughter of Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel), who, as the Disney Channel announced, will be reprising their roles as beloved '90s TV couple. "Rowan is real and accessible, and I am hopeful this girl is about to meet a world that will love growing up with her as well," added Jacobs.
"No one wanted to really cash in, if you will, too early, or no one really wanted to do something that was going to be cheesy. So when we all decided to get together for this, there were a lot of discussions," Savage told the Rolling Stone. "I've gotten [notes] from a lot of people who are worried that the show won't hold up. That we shouldn't do it because it's going to ruin a lot of their childhood memories. We're really working hard and doing everything we can to make sure that this is going to be something special and funny, and hopefully it'll make new memories for a new generation."
