Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball

Wrecking Ball: Hurtling through the pop world this week like a.well, wrecking ball, is of course Miss Miley Cyrus. The 20-year-old, who's been mired in controversy over the past few weeks, has turned things up a notch with the release of her new video, a collaboration with Terry Richardson. Jurassic World: Just when you thought Hollywood was done with taking risks, out comes the release date and title for the fourth instalment in the Jurassic Park franchise, Jurassic World. Directed by the relatively unknown filmmaker Colin Trevorrow (in blockbuster circles at least), this movie is sink or swim for Universal Pictures. Check out the Jurassic World details here.

Hall of Fame: Forget Letterman and Leno. Many television connoisseurs still consider Arsenio Hall the greatest of the late night television hosts and he made his case once again this week returning to syndicated television with a new show. Dumber, Still: We had Dumb & Dumber, the easily forgettable Dumb & Dumberer, and now we're getting even dumber with a sequel to Jeff Daniels' and Jim Carrey's classic comedy. Things are now well and truly under way with the new flick - find out how we know right here. 

Osage for the Oscars: Anyone who has read the early Oscar predictions will know August: Osage County features in just about all of them. And so it should: it has Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts and Ewan McGregor. It premiered at the Toronto Film Festival this week, though there are doubts about its Academy potential. Slave Trade: In contrast, Steve McQueen's Oscars record led many to believe his latest effort 12 Years a Slave wouldn't challenge for the major awards this year. Johnny Depp - Pirates 5?

Shipwrecked: Pirates of the Caribbean 5. Forget about it. It isn't happening next year. It may not be happening for a very long time given Disney's recent Lone Ranger disaster. Jerry Bruckheimer remains optimistic, though we just don't see it. Find out what's going on here.
