Rose McGowanRose McGowan has criticised the X-Men: Apocalypse movie poster.

Rose McGowan

Actress-turned-director Rose McGowan has said that she’s become disillusioned with the industry and has decided to quit acting because of the “boring” current trend for superhero movies.

The former ‘Charmed’ star made headlines earlier in 2015 when she slammed a casting call made for an Adam Sandler movie because of sexism. The 42 year old year old has now taken to Instagram this week to bemoan the current state of Hollywood and its reliance on what she sees as “green goblins and tight outfits”.

Kim Kardashian: "Kris Is Accusing Me Of Fraud, It's Just Not Who I Am"

Kim Kardashian Kris Humphries Kourtney Kardashian Rose McGowan

Kim Kardashian has confirmed that her ex-husband Kris Humphries is accusing her of fraudulently marrying him, though vehemently denies the allegations. Though the pair's divorce has been dragging on for months, Kim publically spoke about the specific accusations during an radio interview on Sway in the Morning on Wednesday (January 16, 2013).

It's been more than a year since Kim filed to dissolve her marriage from New Jersey Nets star Humphries, just 72 days after their lavish nuptials in Montecito, California. "[The marriage] is going on its second year, and that's really tough because I want to move on. I really want to move on with my life," said Kim, who is expecting her first child with new boyfriend Kanye West. "He's suing me for an annulment. He's claiming that I [committed fraud]. Who would ever do that? It's just not who I am. All those fake and fraud rumors got started because of that, and we have to deal with that and handle that," explained the reality star, who was appearing on the radio show with sister Kourtney.

Kardashian - who claims to have been in love with Humphries - suggests staying married to him for the sake of public opinion would have been the real fraud. "I would have rather ended it when I felt that way, than waste a year of my life not being happy. But for him, too. I knew the whole world was going to bash me. I knew that. I said to myself, 'What's more important? My life and my happiness, or what the whole world thinks of me?" With pit-bull celebrity attorney Laura Wasser on her side, it's likely that Kardashian will be smiling come the conclusion of the high profile lawsuit.

Conan The Barbarian Review

Weak
With a complete lack of self-awareness, this po-faced remake looks more like a trash-TV series (a la Spartacus or Camelot) than a proper movie. Mainly because the filmmakers continually opt for gratuitous gore rather than actual storytelling.

Born in battle, Conan (Howard, then Momoa) is set on vengeance. His people, the Cimmerians, were slaughtered by the evil Khalar Zym (Lang), who was looking for the barbarian-held pieces to a mythical all-powerful mask. Once the mask is reassembled, Khalar Zym and his fiendish daughter Marique (McGowan) need a pure-blood of Acheron to activate it and, as luck would have it, the last one is hot babe Tamara (Nichols). So of course Conan and Tamara team up to fight off the villains and save the pre-historic world.

Grindhouse Review

Excellent
Longtime buddies Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez have worked together before (Four Rooms, Sin City), but this takes it to the next level. Grindhouse is their shared B-movie fantasy: a three-hour, bare-knuckled double feature epic, an unapologetic celebration of '70s-era hardcore schlock that's authentic, witty beyond expectation, and unerringly crowd-pleasing.

In a recent TV interview, Tarantino said he and Rodriguez had always wished those low-budget flicks were as good as their posters -- and they set out to achieve that, decades after the movies' heyday. With an obvious passion for the genre, the pair has recreated the experience of being at some cheap Texas drive-in with two features, fake coming attractions, missing reels, local ads, and announcements from theater management. Even if you don't catch on to everything, just watching the package is a complete thrill.

Monkeybone Review

Terrible
Despite Fox's attempts to market this film on the coattails of director Henry Selick's success with Tim Burton vehicle The Nightmare Before Christmas, be thou not fooled. Monkeybone bears none of the charm or character of its predecessor. The story of a cartoonist (Brendan Fraser) who falls into a coma and enters a world where the star he created, Monkeybone (who is -- get this -- both a monkey and a metaphor for the cartoonist's own penis), this film lacks as much in the way of creative inspiration as it does in taste.

It's not that the unending stream of preschoolish fart and pecker jokes are offensive, they're just tiresome and invariably expected. And they persist, from the opening scene to the entirely unsurprising conclusion. Fortunately, though, the film has some subplots. Unfortunately, they're absolutely senseless.

Jawbreaker Review

Bad
Try as we will to forget, we all remember middle school. We all remember how much our own life felt like it resembled Welcome to the Dollhouse. We remember the insults. We remember the fights. We remember being the spectator to a catfight.

Watching Jawbreaker, in that respect, could be called a nostalgia film.

Ready To Rumble Review

Excellent
Wrestling - for all of its flash pots, Solid Gold dancers, and large, scantily clad, sweaty men - is the 21st century version of Ringing Bros., Barnum and Bailey's traveling tent show. When I was a kid, I used to watch the exploits of Andre the Giant, Macho Man Randy Savage, and the Honky Tonk Man. The newest generation of wrestlers have never interested me, with all of the theatrics and bad, bad attitudes toward almost everything under the sun. The "sport" of wrestling has become three hours of anger, deception, sexual dominance, and violent acts with chairs. The one thing that has always eluded me with the newest generation of wrestlers - Goldberg, Sting, Mankind, and The Rock - is the human element that drew me into the action so well as a kid. But Ready to Rumble helped remind me of the glory days I once had, sitting before the 13-inch RCA with the bottom knob broken off, watching my heroes triumph over the adversities of life's travels.

The film follow two losers, played by Scott Caan and David Arquette, who run a septic truck business for the local town of Lusk, Wyoming. Their idol is Jimmy King (Oliver Platt), grand champion belt holder of the WCW Federation, who proclaims "I WILL RULE YOU!" after every victory. Caan and Arquette attend a WCW bout and, in horror, watch their idol fall from grace by turncoat WCW wrestlers. Jimmy King is beaten to a bloody pulp and a fellow wrestler, Diamond Dallas Page, takes the belt from the fallen king. After the show, Caan and Arquette strike out to find their defeated hero and once again place the crown upon the rightful king of the ring.

Going All The Way Review

Good
Jeremy Davies doesn't really make for a credible ladykiller, nor does he even pass for a G.I. straight outta WWII. Going All the Way's bevy of beauties (dig the cast list) can't make much more out of Mark Pellington's coming of age flick, but an early Ben Affleck proves that, well, Affleck will always be Affleck. Ultimately it's goofy and a little bit confusing, but a few of its insights are worthwhile, if far from unique in this genre.

Devil In The Flesh Review

Weak
Best known as an early Rose McGowan flick, Devil in the Flesh is really just late-night cable fare made passable only by some not-quite-awful acting. For McGowan purists only.

The Doom Generation Review

Bad
Good Lord, how did this film ever get made? As Gregg Araki's fifth feature, you'd figure he'd have learned something about moviemaking by now. Looks like I'm wrong again.

The Doom Generation, hands-down one of the most horrid examples of filmmaking I've seen in ages, is a brain-dead, post-modern love story. The plot (what there is of it) tells the moronic tale of Amy Blue (Rose McGowan), her boyfriend Jordan White (James Duval), and some guy they pick up called Xavier Red (Johnathon Schaech). (Did you catch on to that ultra-clever color motif?) Altogether, these three embark on a nonsensical spree of sex, killing/mangling people, and then eating...and then repeating the cycle four or five times.

Southie Review

Bad
Rose McGowan? Thumbs up! Donnie Wahlberg? Thumbs way down. This shallow, vapid tale about a minor south Boston gang rivalry gets points for the cuties but thanks to a plot that is at turns utterly incomprehensible and breathtakingly stupid Southie is nigh unwatchable. Nice try with the Boston accents, and I'm giving Southie half a star for one of the best lines of dialogue in recent memory: "Take your panties and get outta here!" Does art imitate life or what!?

Ready To Rumble Review

Bad

David Arquette's escaped-lunitic-on-a-double-espresso style of nitwit comedy is an aquired taste. Or at least I assume it is since I don't find him funny but movie directors continue to cast him and AT&T saw fit to make them their collect-calling spokesman.

He's a one-note Jim Carrey wannabe with a Jerry Lewis IQ and two facial expressions: Half-asleep stoner and vein-popping screaming mimi. He's also a front-runner for Least Convincing Actor Alive, as he frequently seems to be looking desperately toward the camera for approval of over-the-top his antics.

David Arquette is also the star of "Ready To Rumble," a slow-pitch comedy about professional wrestling fans, seemingly made for some niche market of moviegoers that find Pauly Shore pictures too intellectually taxing.

Jawbreaker Review

Zero

Like the recent teen flick mishap "She'sAll That," "Jawbreaker" is anotherone of those high school movies that presumes a nerd's wildest dream isbe to become shallow and popular, and that said nerd would do just aboutanything -- even become an accessory to murder -- to see that dream cometrue.

The premise here is that when a SoCal teen wallflower (JudyEvans Greer) stumbles on the campus vanity princess squad covering up theiraccidental murder of another popular girl, the cold-blooded triad buy hersilence with a make-over and an introduction into their clique.
