Rooney Mara certainly caused a stir with her dramatic transformation to play the role of Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher's remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, but the 26-year-old was once again the talk of the town as she walked the red-carpet in London for the movie's UK premiere on Monday (December 12, 2011).
In a possible nod to her computer-hacker character, the actress debuted a razor-sharp fringe at the Odeon in Leicester Square on a blustery night in the capital. According to the UK's Daily Mirror, Rooney had been nervous to face the crowds but wowed in a stunning soft white Givenchy gown with cut-out panels and sheer details - she also opted for a natural look with little makeup, but pulled it off with aplomb. Her co-star Daniel Craig wore a traditional looking suit for the occasion, but matched it with an edgy long black leather coat and patent brogues. The film's lead stars were joined by the likes of Joel Richardson, Peaches Geldof and Sian Welby, who all braved the cold to walk the red-carpet and pose for photographers. Reality stars Gabriella Ellis and Francesca Hull - both of whom star in Channel 4 series Made in Chelsea - stepped out in glamorous looking dresses, though most fell short of Mara's subtle styling.
The latest movie is an English-language remake of 2009 film by Niels Arden Oplev. The movie follows a journalists mission to discover what has happened to a girl who has been missing for 36 years and who may have been murdered.
