The Rolling Stones have announced a fifth date for their forthcoming 50th anniversary shows taking place at the end of this month and the beginning of the next. Fans are starting to anticipate more dates in 2013, with some even predicting a headlining slot at Glastonbury Festival in the UK – one of the very few things the famous rockers have never done before in their illustrious career.

However for now they’ll have to do with just one additional date, which will be taking place at the Barclay’s Center in New York on December 8, falling between their two dates in London at the end of the month and two in New Jersey in mid-December. All four of those have sold out. The Barclay’s Center – the renovation of which was partly funded by Jay-Z – has received plenty of high profile recently, with Hova himself announcing shows there whilst Coldplay joining him on New Year’s Eve, and the booking of the ‘Stones is another peak in the cap of the newly re-opened venue.

Fans shouldn’t be expecting to pay anything cheap though, given the outrage over the price of tickets for their London and New Jersey shows, which saw some tickets go on general release sale for over $600. In other 50th anniversary-related events, the ‘Stones new greatest hits album Grrr! went on sale in both the US and the UK this week.
