Veteran Australian entertainer Rolf Harris is to be charged with nine counts of indecent assault and four of making indecent images of children.

The artist/musician, 83, was arrested in March (13) as part of an investigation into claims late British Tv host Sir Jimmy Savile molested hundreds of underage children while working at the Bbc.

Harris was held earlier this month (Aug13) over further allegations, and now it has emerged he is to be charged with 13 sexual offences.

The nine indecent assaults are alleged to have involved a 14-year-old girl and another girl aged 15 and 16 between 1980 and 1986. The four counts of making indecent images of children stem from 2012.

Harris is expected to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court in London on 23 September (13).
