Entertainer Rolf Harris was honoured with one of Australia's highest honours on Thursday (08Nov12) as part of Queen Elizabeth II's Birthday Honours list.

The artist/singer was made an Officer of the Order of Australia for his distinguished service to the performing and visual arts and his charity work.

Harris spoke of his pride at receiving the honour at the Australian High Commission in London, telling reporters, "It is a lovely feeling. I am very much an Australian. I had a marvellous childhood in Australia and a marvellous set-up for my life."

The Tv favourite, who once painted the Queen's portrait, has already been honoured as a Member of the British Empire (Mbe) and he also has an Obe (Order of the British Empire) and Cbe (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) to his name.
