Queen star Roger Taylor has launched a new talent search to find musicians worthy of carrying out an upcoming tribute show.
The drummer has invited aspiring stars to submit video auditions, which will be judged by an appointed panel and the overall public. The final contestants will get the chance to perform live for Taylor in Los Angeles in December (11).
The winners will then be assembled to fill out a five-piece band, fronted by three vocalists. The act will travel throughout North America as part of the Queen Extravaganza Live Tour, which is set to kick off next year (12) to honour the band's 40th anniversary.
Taylor says, "There are great musicians everywhere, and this is a really exciting challenge for us to try and unearth some of those musicians from the U.S..
"The Queen Extravaganza will not be a traditional tribute show. It's a brand new show specially designed to enable fans to celebrate the music of Queen in a heart-stopping event. It's going to be spectacular. It's going to be very visual, there are going to be some shocks and some tremendous surprises."
