Veteran rockers Rod Stewart and Jerry Lee Lewis are celebrating after they both scooped their first ever GRAMMY AWARD last night (13FEB05).

Stewart won the Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for STARDUST... THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK VOLUME III, while Lewis scooped a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Stewart, who was absent from the Los Angeles ceremony because he's in Australia preparing for a tour, says, "After all these years I was quite liking not winning, but somehow I'll learn to live with it.

"In fact I intend to take it with me everywhere."

GREAT BALLS OF FIRE singer Lewis, 69, says, "I feel great about this award because you earn it. I just thank God I'm living."

The ceremony also marked a first win for pop beauty Britney Spears, whose chart-topping track TOXIC took the prize in the Best Dance Recording category.
