Veteran Rocker Rod Stewart Found Inspiration For A Song Title From An Interview With Reeva Steenkamp, The Model Killed By Disgraced Paralympian Oscar Pistorius.
The model was shot a number of times by the athlete through the bathroom door of his South Africa home in February, 2013 and he claimed he thought she was an intruder.
In the months before her death, Steenkamp had discussed her troubled relationship with Pistorius, who she began dating in 2012, and her interview provided unlikely inspiration to Stewart for his "first reggae song" Love and Be Loved.
"You know where I got that title? Pistorius. His girlfriend gave an interview just before she was killed," he tells Britain's The Sun newspaper. "They were having trouble and she said, 'All I want to do is to love and be loved'. I write things like that down in a book and the song is born."
Pistorius was sentenced to five years in prison for culpable homicide in October (14), but was released on Monday (19Oct15) to complete his term under house arrest.
