Ryan Murphy is being lined up to direct the 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' remake.

The 'Glee' creator has recently put the finishing touches to a 'Rocky Horror' themed episode of the hit TV show and now sources say he has been approached by Fox 2000 producers Peter Chernin and Lou Adler to direct a remake of the 1975 camp musical, Deadline.com reports.

The original film - a comedy-horror musical about a newly engaged couple who discover a group of strange and outlandish people holding an Annual Transylvanian Convention when their car breaks down in an isolated area - grossed more than $100 million at the box office.

The movie - which starred Susan Sarandon, Tim Curry and Meat Loaf - was adapted from a stage musical, written and developed by Richard O'Brien.

This is a busy time for Ryan - along with his 'Glee' duties the 'Eat Pray Love' director is working on a new romantic comedy starring Julia Roberts for Sony Pictures .

He is also said to be interested in directing new 'Hulk' actor Mark Ruffalo in 'The Normal Heart', a movie adaptation of the Larry Kramer play about AIDS.

The 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' themed 'Glee' episode will air in the US on October 26th.
