In a move that almost certainly will raise the hackles of theater owners again, Paramount Home Media Distribution announced on Tuesday that it will debut the drama Adore on Sept. 6 in theaters and on video-on-demand. A news release did not indicate whether a premium price will be attached to the VOD release. The film, which stars Naomi Watts and Robin Wright is due to debut the weekend following Labor Day, typically the slowest weekend of the year at theaters. The news release also did not indicate how many theaters have agreed to screen it, but The National Association of Theatre Owners, the largest organization of exhibitors, has taken a strong position against showing any film that is available on home-video formats while it is still playing in theaters
