Robin Williams' funeral will be a private ceremony held in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Robin Williams' funeral will be held in San Francisco.
The late actor - who committed suicide at his home in California on Monday (11.08.14) - will be laid to rest in a ''very private'' ceremony in the Bay Area, organised for close family members who have begun to arrive in the area.
A source told E! News: ''It's not official yet, but that's the plan. It will be small. They were both very private people.''
Tribute will also be paid to the 'Hook' actor at the Throckmorton Theatre in Mill Valley, California, through a comedy benefit night which will be held for the public some time in the next few weeks.
The theatre also cancelled their show on thursday out of respect for the star who lived close by.
The venue said in a statement: ''We are in deep mourning for our dear friend and incredible human being, Robin Williams. Tomorrow's 'Mark Pitta & Friends show has been cancelled. We ask for your understanding at this time.''
The 63-year-old actor left behind his wife, Susan Schneider, and three children Zak, 31, Zelda, 25, and Cody, 22 from previous relationships.
Susan - who married the 'Patch Adams' star in 2001 - has asked that the public give the family privacy during their ''time of profound grief''.
She said in a statement: ''This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken. On behalf of Robin's family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief.
''As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin's death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions.''
