Like many other celebrities and fans, Ben Affleck wanted to pay his respects to one of the most memorable Hollywood legends ever, Robin Williams. The 41 year-old actor expressed that he his completely "heartbroken" after hearing about the comedian's sudden death.

Affleck, who co-starred with Williams in 1997's 'Good Will Hunting,' shared an emotional message via Facebook on Tuesday (Aug 12th), in which he thanked the late star for giving him a chance when many others didn't.

"Heartbroken," he wrote. "Thanks chief - for your friendship and for what you gave the world. Robin had a ton of love in him. He personally did so much for so many people. He made Matt and my dreams come true."

"What do you owe a guy who does that? Everything," the 'Argo' actor added. "May you find peace my friend."

Affleck is referring to himself and Matt Damon trying to get their screenplay of 'Good Will Hunting' made into a movie, the two struggling actor's finally got the green light when Williams joined the production.

The stand-up comedian won the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his performance as Dr. Sean Maguire in the flick. He portrayed a therapist who was tasked to connect to the troubled main character Will, played by Matt Damon, after it is discovered he was a closet genius.

Minnie Driver, who also starred in the movie, took to Twitter to share her own tribute to the late actor, posting, "My Heart's broken. Robin was a beautiful, kind soul. Can't bear that he's gone. So incredibly sorry for his family."

Williams was found unresponsive and unconscious at 12 p.m. at his home in Tiburon, Calif., on Monday (Aug 11th), according to reports by the Marin County Sheriff's Office-Coroner Division and his own team of representatives. The cause of death was from asphyxia due to Williams hanging himself. He was 63 years-old.
