Movie director Robert Rodriguez is determined to remain in Austin, Texas and avoid moving to Hollywood - despite mainstream success.
The Once Upon A Time In Mexico film-maker hails city officials for allowing him and fellow Austin dwellers - including BEAVIS AND BUTT-HEAD creator MIKE JUDGE - to shoot as they please.
He says, "People like Richard Linklater, Mike Judge and me make movies there, not because there's a film industry there, but because we made a film industry there so we wouldn't have to go anywhere else.
"We got the city to give us the old airport hangars to use as stages and we've kind of built ourselves a little infrastructure."03/10/2003 19:26
