Robert Plant is to unveil his latest project, the Sensational Space Shifters, to mark the 30th anniversary of Britain's Womad festival in July (12).
The former Led Zeppelin rocker has teamed up with members of his ex-backing band Strange Sensation and pal Justin Adams to form the new group, and boasts the eclectic line-up is influenced by "the roots music of Mississippi, Appalachia, Gambia, (and) Bristol".
Plant's new band will debut live at Womad, which takes place in the west of England over the weekend of 27-29 July (12).
