After a week of anticipation, Robert Pattinson will make his first public appearance since news of his girlfriend Kristen Stewart's affair with Rupert Sanders broke a couple of weeks ago. The British actor will appear on Jon Stewart's late night show to promote his new movie 'Cosmopolis' on Monday (August 13, 2012).
There has been some speculation as to whether Pattinson will speak about the breakdown of his relationship - and although his management may have requested that the conversation remains firmly on the movie, we're sure Stewart will drop in a couple of tongue in cheek remarks. Whether or not Pattinson will bite remains to be seen, though one thing's for sure: thousands of Twilight fans will be tuning into the show to see how their favourite actor is holding up. Photographs of Stewart kissing her 'Snow White' director Rupert Sanders emerged a couple of weeks ago, sending the celebrity world into meltdown. It has been widely reported that Sanders and his wife Liberty Ross are working to save their relationship, though Pattinson is understood to have split from the American actress.
Robert Pattinson's Jon Stewart interview is likely to give fans an indication of how the actor plans to play his current personal situation in the media. One school of thought would suggest that being open, honest and perhaps comical about the split would relieve the pressure on the actor, though it's unlikely that he'll give too much away.
