Robert Pattinson was in Cannes this week to support his girlfriend Kristen Stewart as her film 'On The Road' premiered at the prestigious film festival. However, the pair - ever the engimas - disappointed the paparazzi by turning up at different times for the screening, with R-Patz showing up a full half hour before his other half took to the red carpet.
Usa Today reports that Pattinson arrived at the red carpet so early that the Cannes television station wasn't even airing at that point, and cameras hastily pointed their lenses at the British actor trying to desperately shoehorn him into their footage, made all the more difficult by the fact that he didn't stop to give a television interview. Oh R-Patz. However, he did give a helping hand to the promotion of the premiere by standing on the carpet for a good 15 minutes for photos. Stewart meanwhile showed up with her 'On The Road' co-star Garrett Hedlund, exiting a vintage car and gracefully strolling down towards the venue.
Still desperate to see Pattinson and Stewart together, the press were further disappointed when the couple didn't even sit next year each other during the screening. They'll have one more chance to be snapped together, when Pattinson's film 'Cosmopolis' is premiered on Friday evening, but given their apparent avoidance of each other already this week, it seems unlikely such a situation is going to arise.
