Robert Pattinson is reportedly dating Elvis Presley's granddaughter Riley Keough.

A close friend of the star confirmed the relationship after the 'Twilight' was spotted driving around Los Angeles with the redhead over the weekend.

A source told the MailOnline: ''They're inseparable. Rob loves the fact that Riley is Elvis's granddaughter - that's true rock and roll royalty in his eyes.''

Riley, 24, is Elvis' eldest grandchild and is the daughter of Lisa Marie Presley, who shares Riley with her first husband Danny Keough.

The new couple plan to spend July 4 - known as Independence Day in the United States - together before he begins filming new movie 'Map to the Stars' in Toronto, Canada, on Monday (08.07.13).

Although the pair have met before - through Robert's ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart - they got to know each other better through events for Dior in May and June.

Robert is the face of a steamy Dior Homme advert whilst Riley until recently was the face of Dior Cherie and still has ties to the company.

The mutual work connections have enabled the couple to get closer and Riley has even spent nights at Rob's Los Feliz, California, apartment, according to sources.

Still in the very early stages, however, their relationship is described as ''short-term lust right now rather than long-term love.''

Meanwhile, 'Twilight' star Kristen - who starred alongside Riley in 'The Runaways' in 2010 - is allegedly unhappy about the budding romance.

Rob split with his 'Twilight' co-star in May following a brief reunion. The couple rekindled their romance late last year after a temporary split when Kristen cheated on Rob with 'Snow White and the Huntsman' director Rupert Saunders.

Kristen reportedly feels betrayed by Riley, who she is said to have mentored and encouraged to try acting.

A source said: ''Rob has been made aware through friends that she is devastated. Kristen is emotionally volatile at the best of times and flew off the handle when she found out about Rob's liaison with Riley. She's told Rob via friends she feels violated.''
