In the age of the Internet, age restrictions at movie theaters no longer make sense, Twilight start Robert Pattinson has told the London Sun. Seeming to anticipate the R rating (a 17 rating in the U.K.) that his upcoming movie Cosmopolis , received this week for its sex scenes, Pattinson noted that such scenes automatically trigger "the highest rating" from censor boards. However, he noted, "you can can have violence. It's like, 'What?' It's completely crazy." Cosmopolis , directed by David Cronenberg, includes a ménage-a-trois scene, but Pattinson maintained, "I don't think there's anything in Cosmopolis that's particularly -- there's nothing bad. I don't think there's anything that would have shocked me when I was 13. Especially when every single kid nowadays probably watches hardcore pornography on the Internet. It's no worse -- in fact, it's a lot better." When it was screened at the Cannes Film Festival last month, the movie received wildly mixed reviews, but Pattinson himself received much praise for his performance as a threatened American billionaire.
