SOPRANOS actor Robert Iler owns an apartment in a New York block that was struck by a crane that fell and killed two construction workers on Friday (30May08).
Iler - who played A.J. Soprano in the hit series - was at home in the Upper East Side building when the tumbling 62 metre (200 foot) tower crane struck.
The crane was working on a new 32-story-apartment block when it collapsed and destroyed many apartments in Iler's neighbouring building.
According to TMZ.com, the 23-year-old actor - who had lived in the block for several years - felt the impact and heard people screaming, although his home was not affected.

Soprano's star Robert Iler was one of many celebrities to play poker in New York's illegal club National CardRoom that was robbed last week (16Jun07).
Witnesses say two armed men robbed the club's "bank" and patrons. The police couldn't find the two gunmen, but arrested Edgar Concepcion, the club's manager, for promoting gambling and possessing bookmaking supplies - according to the New York Daily News.
Other celebrities who frequented the club include baseball player Alex Rodriguez and basketball star Troy Murphy.
National CardRoom reopened earlier this year (07) after the club was raided by police in 2005.
The Sopranos star Robert Iler shocked fans of the show after his dramatic weight loss - because it made him almost unrecognisable.
The young actor shed the pounds in 2005, and even prompted one journalist to ask how it felt to replace the original actor who played his character A.J Soprano.
Iler tells Nylon magazine, "I told her it was fine - that the other kid was an ass anyway."
The Sopranos star Robert Iler is unable to remember shooting the mafia drama's pilot episode because he was so annoyed at missing out on summer camp.
Iler was 12 when he first played mobster's son Anthony Soprano Jr on the pilot of the hit show, which was filmed back in 1997.
He says, "I was so young, I don't even remember doing most of the pilot. I do remember having a great time, but I was wishing I was in camp. It was going to be the first summer I could go to camp, and all my friends were there.
"And then everybody on the set was like, 'Oh, the pilot probably won't even be picked up.' For this, I missed camp!"
SOPRANOS actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler has sparked reports of a romance between her and co-star Robert Iler, after the pair were spotted snuggling up in a Las Vegas nightclub.
The stars, who play siblings Meadow and A.J. Soprano on the hit US TV drama, were seen getting close at Pure club in the Caesars Palace Hotel last weekend (21Apr07), reports TMZ.com.
The couple were out celebrating the final season of the popular programme, where they were later joined by comedians Marlon and Damon Wayans and Britney Spears' estranged husband, Kevin Federline.
LATEST: Jamie-Lynn Sigler and her on-screen sibling Robert Iler have reportedly secured payrises to star in the final season of mob drama The Sopranos. The New York Post reports Sigler and Iler - who play gangster Tony Soprano's children MEADOW and AJ respectively - are set to sign a new $100,000 (GBP55,000) an episode - $15,000 (GBP8,300) more than last season. However, their castmates TONY SIRICO and Steven Van Zandt are still in negotiations and are reportedly unhappy with the offers they have received so far from US cable network HBO (Home Box Office). A source says, "They're not even close."
All of Oscar Grubman's (Aaron Stanford) prep school friends - including best friend Charlie (Robert Iler of Sopranos fame) - tell him that he's a 40-year-old trapped in a 15-year-old's body. Instead of feeding on pop culture and pop music, Oscar spends his time quoting Voltaire and listening to opera. Think of him as a Max Fisher minus the bullshit. He strives to be cultured and sophisticated well beyond his years, and girls his age just don't cut the gouda.

The cast of The Sopranos reunited on a quiet street in Brooklyn, New York, yesterday (27JUL05), to film a wedding scene for the hit show's new season.
James Gandolfini, his screen wife, played by Edie Falco; their screen children, played by JAMIE-LYNN DiSCALA and Robert Iler, were among the mob drama's main castmembers present at a neighbourhood church in Brooklyn Heights for the wedding of character JOHNNY 'SACK' SACRAMONI's daughter.
But since Sack, played by VINCENT CURATOLA, was arrested in the climatic episode of last season, there were extras on set dressed as US Marshals, forcing each character to go through a metal detector and be searched for weapons as they entered the church.

THE SOPRANOS star Robert Iler has been caught up in a bizarre brawling rap after a fitness guru claimed he beat her up at a New York club last week.
The 20-year-old actor has been investigated by police and they've decided not to press charges, determining that the accuser, BONNIE KAYE, hasn't convinced them he was the man who hit her in a fight.
Iler's spokesman says, "Robert had nothing to do with this. He was at the party, but none of us know how he got implicated."

Home from boarding school for Thanksgiving holiday with unruly hormones and a festering Oedipal jones for his 40-something stepmom, idiosyncratic 15-year-old Manhattan sophisticate Oscar Grubman is having a hard time coping with life.
Versed in the classics, a voracious reader of Voltaire, fluent in French and tortured by his own high expectations, he doesn't have much use for girls his own age -- even the ones that like him. But as he waits impatiently for some elusive perfect moment to reveal his desires to Dad's wife (Sigounrey Weaver), Oscar gets a little drunk one night and goes to bed with her lusty best friend (Bebe Neuwirth) instead.
Such is the framework for "Tadpole," the enticingly tart, oddball coming-of-age comedy that won helmer Gary Winick the Director's Award at this year's Sundance Film Festival.
