Robert DeLong, one of this year's fastest rising and most exciting electronic dance music artists, has just announced a London headline show at London's Electrowerkz on September 30th. This comes hot on the heels of his debut album release Just Movement this summer, an outstanding London performance which marked his first visit to the UK, and an international hit with his debut single 'Global Concepts' going platinum in Australia and excelling in both the US and UK. This summer Robert also lights up the British shores, playing the legendary Reading and Leeds festivals, as well as shows in Bristol and Brighton.
The UK dates are as follows:
21ST AUGUST BRISTOL THEKLA
22ND AUSGUST BRIGHTON GREEN DOOR STORE
23RD AUGUST READING READING FESTIVAL
24TH AUGUST LEEDS LEEDS FESTIVAL
30TH SEPTEMBER LONDON ELECTROWERKZ
Live, Robert creates a full throttle electronic experience, bursting with energy, creativity and advanced technical skill which sees him incorporate MIDI interfaces, Wii controllers and joysticks into his set. Darting from drumkit to timbale, changing mics and creating live samples in one breath, to watch his live show is to watch a creative genius at work, making fans of new music heavyweights Zane Lowe and Huw Stephens at Radio 1.
A 12 track showcase of his phenomenal talent and superior technical skill, Just Movement is written, produced, mixed and performed entirely by DeLong himself. His unique take on electronic dance music pushes boundaries in music production and songwriting with lyrics addressing spirituality and identity.
A dazzling collection of dance beats, pop hooks and thought-provoking queries, the album's title track kicks off with a primitive explanation of the human response to music before exploding into the raucous stomp of full on electro banger 'Global Concepts', already a favourite on Radio 1 and XFM. A tinkling triangle shimmering over the top of a brooding bass and airy female vocals on 'Perfect' contrast the wonky synths and manipulated vocal elements on 'Religious Views' to deliver an album spanning the full electro spectrum.
Tickets for the London show are on sale now priced at 9.50
