The annual New York festival - which was founded in 2002 by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff in response to the September 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center - is set to begin with the opening of the highly successful animated movie, Access Hollywood reports.
It is being advertised as the final chapter in the series of the movies , and will also be the first released in 3-D.
The ninth annual Tribeca Film Festival, which was created in response to the consequent loss of vitality in the Manhattan neighbourhood following the terrorist attacks, runs until May 2.
