Meryl StreepStreep will be back with Di Niro

Streep will play Hildy Good, a successful real-estate broker who lives in a small town on Boston’s North Shore. She’s also a raging alcoholic – her parents held an intervention for her a year before the book begins. Good tries to reform an old relationship with Frank Getchell, a straight-talking Yankee who attempts to straighten out her life. "It is undeniable the chemistry Meryl and Bob will offer us as they bring these characters to life," says Karen Lunder, executive vice president of production for FilmNation.

The book, now a New York Times best seller, was only released as recently as early January 2013, making it one of the quicker page-to-film projects to get the go ahead. The speed at which a film version was decided upon probably has something to do with the fine reviews the novel garnered.

Their last film together was the 1996 American drama, Marvin's Room, for which Streep bagged a Golden Globe.
