Hollywood turned unto DE NIRO TOWN on Thursday night (12JUN03) when the AMERICAN FILM INSTITUTE honoured Robert De Niro.
Pals like James Woods, LEONARDO DiCAPRIO, Juliette Lewis, Harvey Keitel and Billy Crystal turned out to join in the fun at the black tie affair, but the movie great would have been happy if only MARTIN SCORSESE showed up.
He said, "He's the guy I kinda owe it to. I've been very lucky to work with him."
But many of the stars present were thinking of another AFI Lifetime Achievement honoree - late great Gregory Peck.
Scorsese revealed, "He was the first actor I remembered seeing at the movie theatre."15/06/2003 21:27
