LATEST: A TV interview accused killer Robert Blake agreed to do from jail, against the wishes of his former attorney, is set to be used against him when his murder trial gets underway later this month (DEC04).

Prosecutors want to air a segment of the 20/20 chat Blake had with broadcaster Barbara Walters in February 2003 because they insist it will prove he's a liar.

In the interview, Walters questioned Blake about how relations between him and his wife Bonny Lee Bakley were in the days leading up to her murder, for which Blake is accused.

Blake insisted, "We had a lot to talk about, because it was a time when her entire family was going to move to Los Angeles, and everybody was going to have to get situated some place. So there was a lot to talk about, but there certainly wasn't any downside for me."

Prosecutors plan to use the TV interview and another interview Blake gave police on the night of the murder, in which he stated how much he hated the Bakley family, to try and prove he's full of contradictions, and cannot be trusted.

Opening statements in the trial are now scheduled for 20 December (04).
