Robbie Williams upset his neighbours by building a go-kart track.

The former Take That singer - who moved into a luxurious £7 million mansion in Wiltshire, UK, with his actress girlfriend Ayda Field earlier this year - has annoyed local residents by having a driving ring installed in his back garden to race speedy vehicles on.

A source said: "The go-karts have been heard. It's not a problem at all because it's round the back. But there were a few people joking that he'd better not ruin his neighbours' lives with a stock-car track in his back field. Thankfully it's nowhere near as bad as that yet."

Apart from his noisy go-karting hobby the 35-year-old star has settled into village life well.

The source explained: "We are delighted to have Robbie living here. He's been lovely and his girlfriend is so nice. When he first moved in there were a few people who were worried, thinking it would be all Rock Star parties late at night. But like all of us, he loves living here because it's quiet and friendly."
