Actor Robbie Coltrane is stunned at the impact the Harry Potter movies have had on his teen co-star Daniel Radcliffe's confidence - he now has an extensive knowledge of how a film's put together.

Coltrane - who reprises his role as RUBEUS HAGRID in the franchise's latest installment HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN - is amazed Radcliffe has already become a master at operating and understanding the equipment used on film sets, because he's just 15 years old.

Coltrane says, "On the first movie (HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE), Daniel was like this big puppy dog. He was everywhere and wanting to know everything.

"Now he's telling us why things are done and how equipment works. He's amassed a huge amount of knowledge. And he's a real actor now.

"These Potter movies are just the beginning of his career if that's what he wants."
