Zach Cooper has just moved to a sleepy town and is looking forward to getting to know his new neighbors. Hannah seems nice enough, but her father is less than willing to be welcoming; he also happens to be R. L. Stine, the author of the famous children's horror book series 'Goosebumps'. Late at night, Zach hears screams coming from their house and decides to check on his new friend - especially given how unstable her father seems. However, Zach is not prepared for what he's about to find inside the creepy abode. Sitting neatly within an old bookcase are locked volumes containing the 'Goosebumps' manuscripts and, curious as he is, he decides to open one of them. Unfortunately, as he discovers, that was really one mistake too many when he unwittingly unleashes those supposedly fictional monsters into the world.

Gulliver works in a mail room, he's got big dreams and ambitions but he's never had the chance to prevail, when he's mistakenly given the a new assignment to write a piece on the Bermuda Triangle, he accepts his mission and he soon finds himself a giant among men. In this case, it's quite literally the truth when he lands upon the island of Lilliput.

While planning for her wedding to local newsman Derek Dietl (voice of Paul Rudd), Susan Murphy (Reese Witherspoon) is hit by an enormous meteorite containing a mysterious alien element. It instantly causes her to grow in size to gigantic proportions. Naturally, this leads the government, under the director of General W. R. Monger (Kiefer Sutherland) to capture the gal and take her back to his top secret compound. There, he keeps other so-called "monsters" -- mad scientist turned bug Dr. Cockroach (Hugh Laurie), an aquatic fish man known as the Missing Link (Will Arnett), a blob like biological accident named B.O.B. (Seth Rogen), and Insectosaurus, a building-sized pest with an ear-shattering scream. As America's first line of defense against trouble, the team is put to the test when extraterrestrial tyrant Gallaxhar (Rainn Wilson) arrives, ready to take over Earth.

The story begins when Oscar (Will Smith), a working-class fish with fame and fortune on the brain, runs afoul of his boss, Sykes (Martin Scorsese), a puffer fish with the largest eyebrows known to aquaria. Deep in debt, Oscar is taken out to pasture by Sykes' Jamaican jellyfish goons (a hilarious Ziggy Marley & Doug E. Doug). Enter Lenny (Jack Black), a shy shark out on a mission to be toughened up by his brother Frankie (Michael Imperioli) on behalf of his shark mob boss dad, Don Lino (Robert De Niro). One thing leads to another, and suddenly it appears as if Oscar has slain Frankie.
