Ringo Starr is exasperated council authorities have demolished his birthplace in Liverpool, England - as he knows they will still try to play on the fact he lived there. The drummer's former home in Madryn Street was deemed to have "no historical significance" according to Liverpool City Council, although the childhood homes of his Beatles bandmates George Harrison and Sir Paul McCartney were preserved. He says, "I can't see the sense in it. 'Here's where he didn't live.' It's crazy. "But sod history, I never really liked the place anyway."
