Two men were arrested after Rihanna posted a photograph posing with an endangered animal. The singer was in Thailand, having a break from her Diamonds World Tour before a Singapore concert, when she posted the picture on Instagram. The photograph, taken in the early hours of Sunday morning, shows the singer with a slow loris perched on her shoulder. She added the caption "Look who was talkin' dirty to me!"

Rihanna, by posting the photograph, has attracted the attention of the Thai authorities who were able to capture the men responsible for attempting to illegally sell the animal. According to The Guardian, the large eyed mammals are frequently used in photo ops by poachers. The photograph was taken on the island of Phuket in a nightclub, according to the L.A. Times.

This is one of many instances in which endangered animals are used for exploitation, on the subject of apprehending poachers, the Phuket district chief, Weera Kerdsirimongkon, said "It's like a cat-and-mouse game. But this time it's bigger because a celebrity like Rihanna posted the picture, and there were more than 200,000 'likes' from around the world."  The district chief went on to say "Phuket authorities were alerted to the picture [of Rihanna], and last night police arrested the two individuals who brought out the loris as a photo opportunity for tourists."

The slow loris are not the only animals being exploited on the island, or indeed the only illegal activities Rihanna has witnessed. She tweeted from a live sex show, an event which is illegal in the country. However, this has not been as emphasised as her photograph of the endangered animals.

Thanks to Rihanna, the Loris have been confiscated and the two men could face charges relating to the possession of protected animals. If they are found guilty they may face up to four years in prison and a $1 300 charge.
