The response to Rihanna 's interview with Oprah Winfrey has been overwhelmingly positive. For months now, Rihanna's fans, as well as cynical onlookers have been second-guessing whether or not the singer is getting back together with her former boyfriend Chris Brown. Brown was arrested for assaulting Rihanna back in 2009 and the notion of a reunion between the two has divided public opinion.
During the Rihanna Oprah interview, Rihanna revealed that, despite everything that has happened between her and Chris Brown, she is still able to forgive him. Fighting back tears, Rihanna told Oprah that at the time that it happened "it was a weird, confusing space to be in, because as angry as I was, as angry and hurt and betrayed as I was, I felt that he made that mistake because he needed help." She added "everybody's going to say he's a monster, without looking at the source and I was more concerned about him."
One Twitter user (iamQuddus) responded by saying "I absolutely Loved Oprah's interview with @Rihanna. Such an insight and so real! Own LoveMeSomeOprah." Another (Frankly_Feliz) showed respect for Rihanna's honesty by saying "Rihanna's Oprah interview was really an eye opener. Just watched the whole thing on necolebitchie's site." Whether or not people agree with Rihanna's sentiments over the incident, it would seem that her decision to finally speak publicly about why she has renewed her friendship with Brown has earned her a little respect from those struggling to understand why she would still be friends with the man who assaulted her.
