Rihanna

RiRi’s been holding back her eighth album Anti, despite revealing the high concept artwork with a full-on unveiling ceremony at a small gallery in Los Angeles a few months back and having already released a host of hit singles from it. Possibly waiting for the tremors from Adele’s 25 to wear off before dropping it, the Barbadian singer’s new effort has no official release date as yet but will definitely be arriving in 2016.

Sia

Having been a songwriter to the stars for a long time, Sia found massive success in her own right with ‘Chandelier’ and its parent album 1000 Forms of Fear in 2014. The Australian’s seventh studio album This Is Acting follows in short order, and will be arriving on January 29th.

The Black Eyed Peas

The former Grammy Award winners have been working on their seventh album, and first since 2010, for quite some time now. Work first began in 2013, but new material has been conspicuous by its absence. However, band member apl.de.ap promised recently at MTV Music Evolution in Manila that the new record would be arriving within a year.

Frank Ocean

Channel Orange, released in 2012, has been one of the most universally popular and critically acclaimed records of the decade so far, but Frank Ocean himself has increasingly seemed like a figment of everybody’s imaginations as we’ve been impatiently waiting for a follow-up to his masterpiece. Although no title or release date has been confirmed, surely he must be nearly by now, right?

Radiohead

Following a number of solo projects, Radiohead have been in the studio for most of 2015 working on their ninth album. It’s been half a decade since The King of Limbs, making this gap between records the longest that fans have ever had endure. They’re rumoured to be headlining Glastonbury next year – could that wait finally be over too?

Kanye West

Well, don’t hold your breath about this one, people. Swish could happen at literally any time, with the artist himself releasing contradictory statements about the state of completion it’s currently in. A few months ago he was saying it would be at least a year, but last week he said it was nearly finished.

Whatever happens, even his dedicated fanbase would be poorly disposed towards Swish if it takes much longer, so it’s quite unlikely that Kanye will keep them waiting into 2017. Whether it’s as awesome as Yeezus or My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, however, is another question entirely.
