Ricky Martin was a double winner at the 22nd annual Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (Glaad) Media Awards in New York on Saturday night (19Mar11).
The pop star, who 'came out' as a gay man last year (10), landed the Vito Russo Award and the Outstanding Talk Show Episode for his Oprah Winfrey Show appearance, during which he revealed all about his sexuality.
Other winners at the Marriott Marquis Times Square ceremony included hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, who claimed the Excellence in Media Award, and True Blood, which was named Outstanding Drama Series.
Additional awards will be presented in Los Angeles on 10 April and in San Francisco on 14 May.
