Ricky Gervais has written a script for this Sunday's Academy Awards presenters Anne Hathaway and James Franco.
RICKY GERVAIS, the British comedian who came in for heavy criticism following his hosting of the GOLDEN GLOBES, has posted a 'fake' script for ANNE HATHAWAY and JAMES FRANCO to use at this week's OSCARS, reports the New York Daily News.Gervais posted the tongue-in-cheek draft comedy routine on his blog, with the message, "They will do an absolutely fantastic job and don't need my help, but I've written a little opening in case they have a few minutes to fill". Franco's part reads, "You probably know me from 127 Hours where I play a man trapped in an enclosed space who decides he would rather cut his own arm off than stay where he was. Now that sounds 'way out' but wait till half way through this f---ing ceremony and you'll start to identify with him". According to the script, Hathway would then say, "No comedians tonight. And do you know why? Because comics are ugly", to which the actor replies, "Especially that rude obnoxious one who played the Steve Carell part in the English remake of The Office".
RICKY GERVAIS has consistently defended his performance at the GOLDEN GLOBES, during which he took aim at a number of Hollywood star including Robert Downey Jr, Bruce Willis and TIM ALLEN.
