Comedian Ricky Gervais' FLANIMALS OF THE DEEP has been nominated for the children's book prize at the Galaxy British Book Awards later this month (MAR07). The illustrated work - about strange animals with weird habits - is a collaboration between The Office star Gervais and comic-strip artist ROB STEEN. Other books up for awards include funnyman Peter Kay's THE SOUND OF LAUGHTER, which has been nominated for Best Biography and Book Of The Year, while The Devil Wears Prada writer LAUREN WEISBERGER is nominated for Film And TV Book Of The Year, competing against Al Gore's AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH. Voted for by the British public and organised by Publishing News, the winners will be announced on 28 March.
