British comic Ricky Gervais is set to animate the U.S. TV market - he will voice a new cartoon series based on podcasts he created for a British newspaper.
The funnyman, who wrote the original The Office TV show, is using animation to bring to life a series of web broadcasts, which he produced with creative partner Stephen Merchant for Britain's The Guardian newspaper.
The 13-show series, which will see Gervais, Merchant and friend Karl Pilkington lend their voices to the characters, will feature musings on a range of topics.
The comedy will air on U.S. network HBO on 19 February (10).
