Ricky Gervais is reprising his role as David Brent for Comic Relief.

'The Office' comedian will return to TV screens as the hapless manager of Slough paper merchants Wernham Hogg for a special one-off Red Nose Day episode on March 15, ten years after the show ended.

Speaking about the upcoming episode, 'The Office Revisited', Ricky told The Sun newspaper: ''I thought it was time to revisit my most famous comedy creation to find out what he's been up to for the last decade and most importantly what he's up to now.

''He is passing on his wisdom to younger would-be rock stars now. Well, really he is trying to worm his way back into rock and roll.''

The episode will see David reinvent himself as a Simon Cowell-style music mogul on a mission to promote urban act Dom Johnson.

The eccentric boss is set to showcase his own attempts at making it into the charts with a ''self-funded'' video for his ''political reggae song'', 'Equality Street'.

David was last seen trying to make it in the music industry in December 2003's Christmas specials.
