Ricki Lake, the American television host, dominated Monday night's Dancing With The Stars, earning the season's first perfect 10 scores from two out of three judges. Lake and partner Derek Hough danced the tango, which judge Carrie Ann Inaba described as "brilliance in the ballroom", reports MTV News.
Lake is regarded as one of the competition's more skilful dancers, but she raised her game even further on Monday with a flawless performance. Inaba and Bruno Tonioli scored the routine 10 out of 10, with Len Goodman scoring 9 before telling the TV star, "You've got to get a little bit more neck going. But I tell you what, top of the leaderboard, I think so". The couple finished with a table-topping total of 29 out of a possible 30. Elsewhere on the 'movie themes' evening, David Arquette and partner Kym Johnson danced the paso doble to a track from 'Raiders of the Lost Ark', receiving a score of 23, while Hope Solo scored 24 for her foxtrot to the 'Toy Story' tune. Rob Kardashian, the brother of Kim, Kourtney and Khloe, has emerged as Lake's closest rival and scored 24 for his effortless paso doble.
Ricki Lake hit the headlines in September, when her rented Malibu home was destroyed by a fire. Luckily, she and her sons escaped the property unharmed.
